Buildfolio

About Buildfolio

Turn Your Workbench Projects into Reusable, Bulletproof Guides.

The Mission

DIY instructions are too often vague and incomplete: a photo dump, a buried tool list, and a missing spec that turns a weekend project into a scavenger hunt. Buildfolio is assembly-line documentation for makers — ordered milestones, sourceable bills of materials, and step-by-step logs — so every build is reproducible, not just remembered.

Why makers publish here

Clarity by Design

Structured milestones, tool checklists, and pro tips ensure zero missing steps — so the next builder never has to reverse-engineer your process.

A Real Portfolio

Track total build time, live BOM budgets, and revision histories in one permanent home instead of a scatter of notes, chats, and cloud folders.

Reward for Quality

Turn your finished CAD files, schematics, and BOMs into recurring passive royalties when other makers follow a guide worth repeating.

Community standards

The rules for publishing and building here, written so you can actually read them.

The Buildfolio Standard

Buildfolio is a platform for high-quality engineering and craft documentation. We reserve the right to archive or delete any project that is incomplete, low-effort, or inaccurate without prior notice.

Zero tolerance

To keep our makers safe, we maintain absolute authority over hosted content. We will immediately delete projects and block accounts involved in:

  1. Illegal activities or weapons fabrication
  2. Dangerous instructions that lack proper safety warnings
  3. Harassment or intellectual property theft

Decisions regarding content removal are at the sole discretion of Buildfolio administration.

Safety and liability

Digital goods

Access to premium blueprints is granted immediately upon purchase. Due to the digital nature of these products, refunds are only issued automatically if content has not been substantially consumed (less than 20% of steps viewed) within 2 hours of purchase.
